In 1958 Abraham Aardewerk took his first steps in the antique trade in the shop of his parents. Almost immediately silver became his main interest. In November 1970, after twelve years of practical dealership, he and his wife Magdie opened their own showrooms at Jan van Nassaustraat 76 in The Hague, Holland.
In 1998 Emiel Aardewerk joined his father in the business. He intents to continue and expand the present expertise in antique Dutch silver,
acquired in the past 45 years. In 2004 he succeeded Abraham as the silver expert on the popular television programme Tussen Kunst en Kitsch, the Dutch equivalent of the Antiques Road Show.
Daughter Esther joined in 1995. She has added a high standard jewellery-department in her own, distinctive taste.
We carry a high quality stock of antique Dutch silver from the 16th century onwards. We aim to be trustworthy advisors, buyers and
expert intermediaries to interested parties, be it buyers, owners, inheritors or sellers of top quality antiques and/or jewellery. One of the firm´s principal activities is assisting in dispersion of quality collections and helping collectors to build up theirs.
