'Pezzame' or 'A colori' vase

Blown glass with applied glass pieces 22.5 x 22 x 6.5 cm (8.7 x 8.8 x 2.6 in.) Acid-stencilled factory mark 'Venini Murano Italia' Murano, Venice - 1950

Originally designed with a three-coloured (zaffiro/pagliesco/rosso) applied decoration, the present example is an exceptional execution with five different colours. According to the former owner, the vase belongs to a small group of custom made objects ordered by an hitherto unidentified Belgian distributer.
