This Calvary has the same composition as the Calvary signed by Pedro de Orrente at the Museo del Prado collection, which previously belonged to the Palacio del Buen Retiro.

Pedro de Orrente painted two other different Calvaries one at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (123.8 x 102.9 cm; inv. 2014.22. Purchase, Charles and Jessie Price and Fern and George Wachter Gifts, 2014) and the other one at he High Museum of Art in Atlanta (167.5 x 111 cm; inv. 58.37. Gift of the Samuel H. Tres Foundation) in which the Crucified Christ is depicted between the two thieves on the Mount Golgotha as the Calvary we are exhibiting.
