Pair of Slipper Chairs

Jacques Quinet

Lacquered giltwood, velvet upholstery 82 x 8.6 x 10.2 cm (32.3 x 21.8 x 25.8 in.) France - 1945

This pair of Quinet slipper chairs in lacquered and gilt wood, clad in some of their original upholstery, possess the weight and the solidity of earlier neo-classical furniture. This was a source of inspiration for much of the famed designer's finest work.
