Galerie Ludorff

Modern and Contemporary Art

Galerie Ludorff was founded by Rainer M. Ludorff in 1975 and since has become one of the world's leading art dealers focusing on the German avant-garde movements of Expressionism and Impressionism as well as on post-war Abstraction and selected contemporary artists. Over the past 40 years, the gallery has staged several pioneering solo exhibitions of top-quality modern masters such as Alexej von Jawlensky, Max Liebermann, Emil Nolde, Gerhard Richter or Otto Piene. In 2009, Rainer M. Ludorff's company was joined by his son Manuel.

The core of our portfolio is particularly assembled by works of German expressionist artists, especially by masterpieces of the "Brücke" and "Blauer Reiter" movements which provided an essential incentive for the evolution of modern art.

Therefore, another emphasis is set on selected works by Modern Masters such as Max Beckmann, Lovis Corinth, Otto Dix, Max Ernst, Lyonel Feininger, Georg Kolbe, Käthe Kollwitz, Wilhelm Lehmbruck, Max Liebermann, Henry Moore, Egon schiele, Kurt Schwitters or Lesser Ury.

Since 2009, Galerie Ludorff is operating showrooms over two floors using the additional space to stage up to six exhibitions each year which are accompanied by extensively researched catalogues. In the past decades, Galerie Ludorff has enjoyed exhibiting at leading international art fairs such as Art Cologne, BRAFA Brussels, TEFAF Maastricht, Cologne Fine Art (COFA), Munich Highlights, Art Miami and the Armory Show in New York.
