Based in London, Stephen Ongpin has nearly thirty years of experience as a dealer in Old Master, 19th and 20th century drawings. He began his career at P. & D. Colnaghi in 1986, working at the firm's New York branch for ten years before moving to London in 1996. He was responsible for researching, writing, and editing the gallery's annual catalogues of drawings. In 2001 he joined Jean-Luc Baroni Ltd., assuming responsibility for the new firm's successful drawings exhibitions. He has to date researched and written over 35 scholarly catalogues of drawings. Since 2006, Stephen has worked independently as a private dealer and consultant in the field of Old Master, 19th Century and Modern drawings. In 2007 he opened a gallery in St. James's in London. The gallery mounts annual exhibitions of Master Drawings in both London and New York, and issues regular catalogues.
