Anxiety/Desire: Surrealism Fascinates Us Again
Saturday, May 06 at 1:53 PM EDT
Description
Surrealism was the key which opened the floodgate of radical visual and literary creativity in the 1920s. It has in hidden and overt ways informed much of the artistic production since. The resurgence of interest in the surrealistic is evident in the pulsating mash up of images in video, advertising, television, film and all matter of fine arts. What makes us kindred spirits to those pioneering liberators of imagination who embraced and created a new form of the fantastic 100 years ago? This panel composed of scholars and dealers presents their perspectives on the where and the why of this phenomenon.
