Works of Art, Old masters, Viceregal art

Founded by Jaime Eguiguren in 1998, Jaime Eguiguren Art & Antiques is one of the most well-known international galleries established in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The gallery specializes in Old Masters paintings, works of art, old silver and Hispanic American art. Jaime Eguiguren participates in the most important international fairs, amongst others, TEFAF Maastricht for 17 years and TEFAF NY, since its inauguration in 2016. Over the last few years, the gallery published 19 books written by renowned experts in each specialty, thus contributing to the diffusion of the art market and giving absolute solidity to the attributions of the works it offers. Such unique taste and talent for treasures from all over the world due to their exceptional quality and historic value, mostly incorporate museums such as the MET, the LACMA, the DIA, the Louvre, and other important art collections around the world.
Jaime Eguiguren together with Colnaghi gallery are delighted to announce "Discovering Viceregal Latin American Treasures", a joint exhibition that brings together more than a hundred works of art from the Viceregal period opening in July 2021. The exhibition will be supported by the publication of an exquisite printed exhibition catalogue, which will be the most in-depth publication on Viceregal art ever printed. The Old Master works in the exhibition date from the 16th to 18th century, and is comprised of paintings, sculptures, silves, barniz de pasto, ceramics and furniture.
Jaime Eguiguren considers that the art works are limited and non-renewable goods, for which time inexorably attentive to their durability, in time high-quality pieces will end up in museums. The fact of being able to "guard" the wonders that pass through his hands is a reason to be truly grateful to life. Ultimately no one is the absolute owner, we can only enjoy them temporarily and take care of them for future generations.
