Global Head of Marketing

The Global Head of Marketing is responsible for developing and executing the organization’s overall marketing strategy, strengthening brand positioning, driving audience growth, and enhancing commercial performance. This role leads the marketing team, oversees all digital and offline marketing activities, and ensures that marketing initiatives effectively support strategic objectives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and drive a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Identify growth opportunities, audience insights and industry trends that strengthen TEFAF’s global brand position.
  • Lead brand development and ensure consistency across all channels and touchpoints.
  • Identify market trends, customer insights, and competitive developments to support strategic decisions.
  • Champion a content-driven marketing approach that elevates TEFAF’s voice, reinforces thought leadership and deepens audience engagement. 

Campaign & Content Management

  • Oversee and ensure consistent, high quality execution across multichannel marketing campaigns including digital, social media, email, print.
  • Direct the creation of engaging content that elevates brand storytelling.
  • Ensure campaigns are data-driven, measured, and optimized for maximum impact.

Team Management & Collaboration

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the marketing team, setting clear performance goals and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Work cross-functionally with Collector & Museum Relations, Partnerships & Events, PR & Communications, Operations, and Executive Leadership.
  • Lead liaison with external agencies, freelancers, and creative partners to guide conception, design and execution of TEFAF’s campaigns.

Analytics, insights & reporting

  • Oversee SEO/SEA, social media strategy, CRM, and website performance.
  • Implement marketing automation and customer journey optimization.
  • Use analytics to monitor KPIs, generate insights, and refine marketing activities.
  • Establish and maintain a robust reporting framework for key marketing KPI’s across channels.
  • Translate performance insights into actionable recommendations that support strategy, content development and long-term planning. 

Partnership & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage all marketing relationships with fair partners and ensure integration of partner initiatives into TEFAF’s marketing and content framework.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing colleagues, senior leadership, and stakeholders including the Executive Committee, Managing Director, External Relations, and Development to ensure consistent messaging and seamless alignment across all marketing activities.

Budget & Resource Management

  • Develop and manage the marketing budget.
  • Allocate resources effectively to ensure maximum ROI.
  • Track financial performance and report regularly to senior leadership.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in marketing leadership roles.
  • Proven success in developing and executing strategic arts marketing plans.
  • Strong background in digital marketing, data analytics, and brand strategy.
  • Experience managing teams and external partners.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in art fairs, auction houses, international museums, or culturally diverse environment is a plus.
  • Native Dutch – Excellent English communications.
  • Based in the Netherlands

Working Conditions

  • Salary starting from € 5.000
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • 13th month and holiday allowance
  • Flexibility in working hours, including occasional evenings/weekends and travel to fairs in Maastricht and New York
  • Company provided laptop and work phone
