Established in 1988, The European Fine Art Foundation (TEFAF) is widely regarded as the world’s preeminent organization for fine art, antiques, and design. TEFAF runs two fairs internationally—TEFAF Maastricht, which covers 7,000 years of art history, and TEFAF New York, focused on modern and contemporary art and design.

Operations Assistant

Job Overview
As an Operations Assistant at TEFAF, you will support all aspects of Operations for the TEFAF Maastricht and New York fairs. Specifically, you will work with the heads of Operations in Amsterdam and New York on pre-fair, onsite, and post-fair logistics. You will be intimately involved with:

  • Exhibitor Relations: exhibitor communications including managing the exhibitor inboxes for both fairs and answering questions; application, selection, and allocation assistance; exhibitor onboarding; management of fair documentation and uploading to the respective systems; management of exhibitor portal information; move-in/out; shipper coordination
  • Fair calendar: production & exhibitor deadlines; project management of exhibitor timetable
  • Build: act as the voice of our exhibitors with our fair building & logistics teams; set up Show Office, Exhibitor Lounge, Press Lounge
  • Fair collateral: work with production team to ensure accuracy of exhibitor-related signage and printed materials


Qualifications
This is a versatile role well-suited to those who are comfortable wearing many hats. Some of your qualities include:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a role involving operations, logistics, or production
  • Team player with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Resilient to stress in the fast-paced art fair environment
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Comfortable working with all levels of management, staff, and clients
  • An excellent and diplomatic communicator
  • Proficient in using technology such as Excel, Email, CMS, CRM systems
  • Fluency in English, ideally a native speaker and competency in multiple languages
  • BONUS: previous event management or art administration experience


Working Conditions

  • Amsterdam-based
  • The position will be required to work a combination of remote and onsite at the TEFAF Amsterdam office, with some time at the TEFAF New York office, and also at the fairs in Maastricht and New York
  • Flexibility with working hours, including some evenings and weekends when business needs require
  • Salary based upon experience

Social Media and Content Intern

The Social Media and Content Intern supports TEFAF’s social media and editorial initiatives, helping to grow digital audiences and increase brand reach.

Working across social platforms and assisting with TEFAF Stories article production, the Social Media and Content Intern will learn how to effectively develop digital brand strategy.

Job Overview

  • Produce thoughtful, well-researched, and brand appropriate copy for use across social platforms
  • Assist with social media content coordination and scheduling
  • Utilize social media marketing tools such as Buffer, Hootsuite, and Curalate
  • Contribute to community management across social platforms, monitoring follower engagement and responding to queries in a timely manner
  • Assist with coordination and research for TEFAF Stories editorial initiatives
  • Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, editorial, design, technology, and the art world


Qualifications

  • Excellent copywriting skills in English
  • Social media experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, art history, public relations, or related field
  • Strong creative skills and eye for visual content
  • Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+, and other social media best practices
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask
  • Proactive with excellent organization skills


Working Conditions

  • The position will be required to work a combination of remote and onsite at the TEFAF Amsterdam office
  • Flexibility with working hours, including some evenings and weekends when business needs require
  • During the duration of the internship, TEFAF will provide a work phone and laptop
  • This internship is for six months and is compensated €600 monthly

Operations and Project Intern

TEFAF is delighted to announce an internship scheme based at our office in Amsterdam. We are searching for candidates to join our team for three month placements throughout the year. The internships are project-based within and between the TEFAF organisation’s three teams: Operations, Relationships, and Marketing. Successful applicants may also have an opportunity to work as part of the TEFAF team at our fairs.

Candidates should have some experience in events or within art administration, and should show how their skills and experience applies to the different aspects of organising TEFAF’s two leading fairs in Maastricht and New York. Working proficiency in English is required.
