Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about The European Fine Art Foundation (TEFAF) and our annual TEFAF Fairs in Maastricht and New York City.

TEFAF stands for: The European Fine Art Foundation.

TEFAF Online: Sep 9–13, 2021

No other art fair can celebrate the collecting experience quite like TEFAF. This year’s TEFAF Online edition will explore the theme of The Art of Collecting across 7,000 years of art history and through the perspectives of today’s most renowned exhibitors and collectors.

Exhibitors will display up to three artworks, which will tell a single story of historical, personal, or artistic significance. The fair will also feature TEFAF Collections, curated groupings of objects selected by some of the art world’s most illustrious minds.

Together with a culturally rich itinerary that fosters an intimate and educational experience, TEFAF Online promises to be the fair for seasoned collectors, new buyers, and art lovers worldwide.

(Prior to the COVID-19 Pandemic) TEFAF conducted two international art fairs each year: TEFAF Maastricht in March, TEFAF New York Spring in May.

While TEFAF Maastricht showcases art from a wide range of collecting categories and time periods, our TEFAF New York Fair is more narrowly defined by an art-historical time period.

TEFAF New York Spring focuses mainly on Modern and Contemporary Art and Design, with ethnographic and ancient art, photography and jewelry also featured.

We look forward to welcoming you back to TEFAF Maastricht, and TEFAF New York in March 2022.
