S Franses

S Franses was established in 1909 by Sidney Franses supplying museums and collectors. The firm’s first recorded sale to the Victoria & Albert Museum was a medieval English embroidery in 1937 as well as several sales to the royal household. David Franses, now 93, expanded the firm from the 1950’s and still maintains a presence at the gallery now run by his son Simon. Franses is today Europe’s leading dealership in historic tapestry and textile art.
