DIE GALERIE

Since 1979, DIE GALERIE has vouched for a sophisticated gallery concept of ground-breaking developments in the art of the 20th century as well as of promising and multifaceted contemporary positions. Since then, gallery owner Peter Femfert has been operating successfully on the international art market.
Alongside the conception and organization of art exhibitions in both the gallery premises as well as in prestigious museums, cultural institutes and galleries, the sphere of activities includes publishing in addition to – first and foremost – art consultancy and advice for collectors, enthusiasts and professionals.
Besides art fair presentations worldwide, about five exhibitions a year are organized in DIE GALERIE’s Frankfurt headquarter showing original paintings, drawings and sculptures. The gallery focus on Modern Art, especially on Surrealism, and CoBrA art as well as on selected contemporary figurative positions led to many solo and group exhibitions in these fields, such as Max Ernst, André Masson, Jean Dubuffet, Pablo Picasso and Man Ray for the modern part; Pierre Alechinsky, Corneille, Lucebert, Karl Otto Götz, Asger Jorn, Carl-Henning Pedersen for CoBrA art; and beyond, Enrico Baj, Hsiao Chin, Joe Tilson, Friedensreich Hundertwasser, sculptors such as Miguel Berrocal, Igor Mitoraj and Louise Nevelson; contemporary figurative art is represented by Volker Stelzmann, Johannes Heisig and others.
DIE GALERIE has established contacts to museums, collectors, dealers, artists and art estates and has been able to initiate and organize many internationally recognized exhibitions. An intensive and in some cases exclusive collaboration with artists and a friendly relationship to inheritors as Eric and Amy Ernst, grand-children of Max Ernst, to Diego and Lily Masson, the children of André Masson, to the heritage of Friedensreich Hundertwasser and Lucebert resulted in numerous exhibitions.
