Founded in Brussels in 1980, Grusenmeyer Gallery is led by two associates, both second-generation members of families of antique dealers. Internationally recognized for its expertise and an eclectic yet cohesive curatorial vision, the gallery maintains a strong focus on sculpture from Asia, Africa, and antiquities.
Under the guidance of Karim Grusenmeyer and Damien Woliner, the gallery presents a carefully curated selection of works of art distinguished by refined aesthetics and rigorous provenance. Its collection spans diverse and eclectic sculptural traditions across India and Southeast Asia, Egypt and Rome, as well as Africa and Oceania.
Karim Grusenmeyer, who holds a university degree in sinology, specializes in Southeast Asian sculpture and archaeology, drawing on extensive academic and field experience. Damien Woliner brings deep knowledge of Tribal art, Classical antiquities, and European archaeology. Together, their complementary expertise informs a dynamic program that celebrates cultural diversity with clarity and scholarly integrity.
Both directors are members of the Belgian Royal Chamber of Art Dealers and the Belgian Chamber of Art Experts. Karim Grusenmeyer is also a founding member of 5 Continents Editions, a Milan-based publisher renowned for its contributions to art scholarship.
