It was in the Sablon district of Brussels that Patrick Lancz opened his first gallery in 1991. A fervent admirer of the Belgian School, which encompasses the Symbolist, Impressionist, and Fauvist periods of the 1890s-1930s, he also specializes in the Belgian avant-garde of the 1920s and abstract art of the 1950s-1970s. Patrick Lancz organizes two to three exhibitions a year with the aim of showcasing a diverse range of artists whose works offer a harmony of techniques and colors. These works are enhanced by carefully selected antique frames. Throughout the rest of the year, the gallery walls host various group exhibitions that change with the seasons.
The gallery's clientele includes both private and public buyers, such as the Ixelles Museum, the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium in Brussels, the Musée d'Orsay, and numerous international collectors. Patrick Lancz also participates in various exhibitions, including Fine Arts Paris & La Biennale, the Salon du Dessin, and Ceramic Brussels. The aim is to showcase the richness of 19th, 20th, and 21st-century Belgian art in all its forms: drawing, painting, sculpture, and ceramics. We therefore present the work of numerous artists such as Firmin Baes, Arthur Craco, Marthe Donas, Félicien Rops, Walter Sauer, Mig Quinet, Léon Spilliaert, Théo Van Rysselberghe, and many others. The Lancz Gallery thus hopes to awaken the curiosity of art lovers and offer them a place for discovery.
