Largely outside institutional circuits for much of his career, Lorenzato brought to painting knowledge derived from his work in construction, developing a distinctive technique, often employing improvised tools that yield dense, rhythmic surfaces. In this work, the tactile dimension of painting becomes central: striated layers structure sky and ground, while subtle chromatic shifts evoke atmosphere rather than precise topographical description. The result is a landscape that operates between figuration and abstraction, privileging structure, repetition, and formal balance.

Produced during a period of growing recognition, between the late 1960s and early 1970s—when he participated in exhibitions in Belo Horizonte and was selected for the Third Bratislava Triennial—the present work reflects the consolidation of his visual vocabulary.
