Overview

The Croismare training center, commissioned by the Glassmakers’ Union and designed by Ateliers Jean Prouvé, stands as a pioneering example of postwar modern architecture. Conceived to train a new generation of craftsmen, the building showcased cutting-edge modular design and industrial elegance.

With its soaring portal frames, rhythmic façade panels, and signature steel canopy, the structure embodied Prouvé’s vision of adaptable, efficient construction. Celebrated at its opening as “the modern school,” Croismare remains a landmark in architectural history. At TEFAF, Galerie Patrick Seguin will present key elements of this monumental project, alongside a model that illustrates the full scale and ambition of Prouvé’s most significant demountable structure.

TEFAF Meet the Experts programs celebrate the expertise of our world-renowned exhibitors, spotlighting exceptional objects and the stories they tell across categories and 7,000 years of history.
