Rossella Colombari was born in Turin into a renown family of antique dealers and represents the fourth generation in the field. Given her intense bond with her grandfather and father, she had the privilege of growing up surrounded by the enrichening world of antiques and of developing a wide cultural formation. At the beginning of the 1980’s, she founded her first gallery, together with her sister Paola Colombari, focusing on 20th century Design and pioneering the develop- ment of modern design collecting.
In the early years, both sisters dedicated themselves to the research and promo- tion of the works of Carlo Mollino, greatly contributing to the appreciation of his production, yet almost unknown, both on a national and international level by curating important auctions and exhibitions. The Gallery’s research of Mollino’s ouevre led to the publication of the book “Carlo Mollino: Furniture Catalogue” in 2005, a true technical biography of the architect and his work.
In 1991, Rossella Colombari founded her second gallery in Milan and widened her concentration to masterpieces of 20th century Design by architects and de- signers such as Giò Ponti, Osvaldo Borsani, Ico Parisi, Carlo Graffi, Carlo de Carli, Franco Albini, Fontana Arte, Joe Colombo, Ettore Sottsass, and Alessandro Men- dini.
Given her ever-present passion for architecture, Rossella Colombari has always dedicated herself to Interior Design and has realized for the interiors of collector’s homes throughout the world.
The Gallery participates in major international art fairs such as DesignBasel, Desi- gnMiami, PAD London, PAD Paris, TEFAF Maastricht, and Salon NY.
Rossella Colombari is currently a member of the CNE (Compagnie Nationale des Experts in France) and acts as a legal expert for the Court of Milan.
