Jean-François Heim

Jean-François Heim has been sharing his passion for paintings, drawings and sculptures from the 15th to the 20th century for more than fourty years. He has participated in the TEFAF in Maastricht since 1992.
After 30 years in Paris, Jean-François Heim has moved his gallery to Basel, Switzerland, bringing with him the same curiosity and desire to share his taste in art. He continues his work consulting, providing expertise, as well as buying and selling paintings, drawings and sculptures.
Today, Jean-François Heim’s experience is reflected in the selection of the works of art, the quality of his contacts and his expertise. Authenticity, state of conservation, rarity, as well as the virtuosity of the artist and the works’ emotional power are the main factors guiding his artistic selections. The respect of these criteria has established the reputation of the gallery and his competence and reliability have inspired the trust and confidence of the most important collectors and art institutions.
Giving advice in art sponsorship is an additional activity of the gallery. Jean-François Heim studied law and has a wealth of experience in this subject. He acts as an independent consultant between a collector, a patron and a public collection. His competence and reliability have inspired the trust and confidence of the most important collectors and art institutions.
In 1840, François Rude (1784-1855), famous for his ‘Marseillaise’ figure on the ‘Arc de Triomphe’, created a magnificent statue of Louis XIII. This monumental sculpture, held in an Argentine collection, could be classified as “national treasure in a foreign country”. Thanks to the generous art sponsorship of the Autoroutes Paris Rhin Rhône, it will soon enter the Museum of Fine Art in Dijon, Rude’s hometown.
