Chinese and Japanese art

Welcome to Ben Janssens Oriental Art

We specialise in Chinese works of art.

We stock early pottery, bronzes and sculpture, ranging in date from the Neolithic period (circa 3000 BC) to the Qing dynasty (1644 – 1912).

We handle Han dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD) pottery and works of art and Tang dynasty (618 – 906) figures, animals and other objects.

Ben Janssens Oriental Art deals in archaic bronze vessels of the Shang and Zhou dynasties but only in pieces that have a guaranteed provenance.

We have a large stock of Song dynasty (960 - 1279) ceramics and works of art. We also have available pieces from the Ming dynasty (1368 – 1644) and the Qing dynasty (1644 – 1912) in a variety of categories such as ceramics, jade, lacquer, metalwork, bamboo as well as other materials.

Ben Janssens Oriental Art also deals in Japanese works of art. We stock pieces made for the Japanese domestic market, such as ceramics, lacquer, metalwork, cloisonné enamel and sculpture.

We will be delighted to receive you in our gallery in central London to see the objects with your own eyes. We will also be happy to supply photos, descriptions, condition reports and prices to clients who are unable to visit the gallery. These can be sent by email or by post.

Ben Janssens Oriental Art regularly publishes catalogues, featuring especially selected objects. If you would like to join our mailing list, please let us know.
