Van der Meij Fine Arts

Run by Dr Lorenz van der Meij, a second-generation art dealer, we specialise in 19th-century northern-European painting. Our programme includes Scandinavian, German and Dutch painting and contains examples of northern romanticism, realism and symbolism. The gallery has a monthly newsletter and regularly publishes catalogues of new acquisitions, which contain essays by leading art historians.

We stage regular exhibitions at our gallery and in 2021 displayed the first solo exhibition held in the Netherlands devoted to the leading 19th-century painter Laurits Andersen Ring.

The gallery has sold to private collectors and public institutions, including museums in the USA and Europe, for example, the Toledo Museum of Art, Ohio and the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam. We participate in leading art fairs like Frieze Masters, Masterpiece London, Brafa Brussels, Fine Arts Paris Biennale and TEFAF Maastricht.
