Based in an historic Art Deco building in the Netherlands, Morentz is home to multiple gallery spaces, a full restoration atelier and an upholstery studio. Since its conception in 2006, Morentz has slowly built an extensive collection of 20th century and collectible design and a loyal customer following. The gallery’s strength lies in a combination of knowledge and intuition. The collection, which includes pieces from all over the world, is meticulously curated and backed by art historical research. The vast collection includes works by Paavo Tynell, George Nakashima, Axel Einar Hjorth, Wharton Esherick, Studio B.B.P.R., Phillip Lloyd Powell, Jose Zanine Caldas, Finn Juhl, Angelo Lelii and Paolo Buffa, to name only a few. Morentz hopes to inspire visitors by creating immersive presentations in which historical design from diverse regions and decennia is brought together.
