20th century art - paintings, works on paper and sculptures

2024 marks the 35th year Gallery Thomas Salis exhibits at TEFAF Maastricht.

Based in Salzburg since 1981, the gallery’s focus lies on late 19th and 20th century art. Further areas of specialization are French Impressionism, Nabis artists, Fauvists as well as post-war European art.

With his refined presentations and handpicked selection of works, Thomas Salis has made a name for himself. In 2022 the gallery celebrated its 40th anniversary. On that occasion it presented an internationally acclaimed jubilee exhibition under the title “The Collage Principle – from Arp to West” with 75 works by 50 renowned artists. A year later the Festival Exhibition in Salzburg focused on Italian art of the 20th century encompassing the Italian “hall of fame” of the 20th century with artists such as Lucio Fontana, Giorgio De Chirico, Marino Marini, Giacomo Manzù and Alighiero Boetti.

At TEFAF Maastricht in spring 2024 the gallery presented an eclectic range of works by artists such as Jean Arp, Max Ernst, Aristide Maillol, Marino Marini, Paula Modersohn-Becker, Francis Picabia, Pablo Picasso, Serge Poliakoff, Chaim Soutine, Kees van Dongen as well as Édouard Vuillard.
