About the Work

Claude Lalanne’s Fauteuils Crocodile (2015) are part of her famous Croco furniture and one of the finest examples of the artist’s surrealist creativity and audacity. For several decades, Claude Lalanne’s work has reflected her taste for organic forms, the use of imprinting and the electroplating technique. She integrates the unique shape of the animal directly into her bronze work by molding real crocodile skins.
