Constructed between 1199 and 1503 in Delhi, the Qutb Minar is a symbol of both Islamic and local Hindu architectural fusion, maquettes, alike this example, were often commissioned for colonial exhibitions and world’s fairs. This remarkable model, commissioned with the intent of capturing its iconic form, showcases the wide breadth of fascinating history across its architectural structure and changes across owners. This stunning work of sculptural and architectural craftsmanship, presents an illustrious provenance, having passed through the hands of several notable collectors across the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada.
