Studio Madoura: How Suzanne Ramié Redefined Ceramics
Bridging craftmanship with creativity, discover the evolution from traditional pottery to inventive, contemporary design through Ramié’s “Tarasque Pitcher”
Overview
Through years of dedicated craftsmanship and creative exploration, Georges and Suzanne Ramié’s Studio Madoura evolved from its roots in French folk art and Provencal traditions to a space of inventive ceramic design. Renowned for its collaborations with Pablo Picasso and Marc Chagall, Studio Madoura initially produced utilitarian objects and gradually moved forward, towards more personal and imaginative creations. Suzanne Ramié’s Tarasque pitcher exemplifies this shift, reinterpreting traditional pottery through a unique, contemporary lens and forging a new dialogue between past craftsmanship and modern innovation.
