This work is a six colour lithograph by Helen Frankenthaler, which perfectly embodies Frankenthaler’s extraordinary innovation in printmaking. It is part of a wider series, titled Reflections, which Frankenthaler began in the summer of 1993 and worked on over a year. Over 100 trial proofs were made before Frankenthaler approved the final impression of each work included in the series, using different techniques of printmaking which exemplify her painterly freedom on paper.
