The Thrill of the Chase: Discovery Across, Art, Design, and Scenography
Three experts discuss the thrill of discovery across art and design and constructing cross-disciplinary narratives through their finds

Overview
What makes an object irresistible? Is it beauty, rarity, mystery, or the story it unlocks? In this conversation, Salon 94 founder Jeannie Greenberg Rohatyn, Curator of Contemporary Design at Cooper Hewitt, Alexandra Cunningham, and designer Adam Charlap Hyman join a leading institutional curator to explore the thrill of discovery across art, design, and scenography.
Together, they discuss the hunt for exceptional pieces, what gives an object the elusive “X factor,” and how they use those finds to construct layered, cross-disciplinary narratives—whether in museum exhibitions, domestic interiors, or gallery shows. This panel pulls back the curtain on the collector’s high, the curatorial eye, and the joy of breaking boundaries between categories.
