About the Work

A pair of earrings, exquisitely sculpted in the form of an inverted lotus, a motif echoed in Mughal architecture and antiquity, blends historical inspiration with modern precision. In Mughal design, the lotus symbolises purity, transcendence, and rebirth, appearing across domes, finials, and ornamental elements. Each earring features sculptural rose-gold petals that unfurl in a harmony of fluidity and sharp geometry, capturing the movement of the flower and recalling the carved marble elements that inspired them.

At the centre rests an old-mine rosette-cut diamond, its distinctive faceting lending depth and brilliance to the composition. Rose-gold frames the graduating pavé-set diamonds, cascading down in sculptural arcs. The pavé is meticulously set into dark titanium, comprising 550 stones in total. The design balances contrast, the timeless warmth of rose gold set against the deeper, contemporary strength of titanium, resulting in a jewel that is at once elegant, refined, and commanding.
