About the Work

A pair of disc earrings, featuring matte brown titanium at the centre framed by a rose-gold border, draws inspiration from the pierced geometric and floral lattices of Mughal jaali windows. These decorative screens, seen in palaces and mosques including the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Humayun’s Tomb, were designed to filter light and create striking motifs, combining functional purpose with ornamental elegance. In these earrings, delicate rose-gold filigree forms a floral motif, with interlacing petals holding reverse-set diamonds as the pistil.

Accented with micro pavé along the edge, the combination of warm gold, matte brown titanium, and fine rose-gold detail evokes the latticed geometry of jaali screens, bringing centuries of architectural artistry into a contemporary, wearable form.
