‘Devon Island’ is one of the most recent works from the circular series paintings, which emphasise the cyclical, rhythmic, and ever-shifting qualities that have long been central to Andy Harper’s practice. His enduring interest in creating imagined worlds of unruly, elaborate, vegetation-like formations is both encapsulated and, in some ways, released within the circular frame.
