About the Work

'Deep Vertex’ pieces are shaped by colour and texture, introducing a subtle tension of opposites through the pairing of materials in similar hues from different natures – mineral juxtaposed with organic. Carved ebony is set against onyx, the lustrous dark red of Bloodwood complements carnelian, while cream opal sits alongside iridescent mother of pearl. The result is a body of work that is visually strong, yet meditative and tactile.
