About the Work

Small-scale bronze statuettes representing deities or deified figures are characteristic of the Middle Bronze Age in the Near East. The multiple-horned tiara is a key iconographic marker of divinity, indicating elevated rank within the pantheon. The stylized treatment of the body, elongated proportions, and strict frontal pose correspond to sculptural conventions widely attested in inland Syria, Upper Mesopotamia, and the Levant.

Such figures were likely intended for votive or cultic use, deposited in domestic or public sanctuaries.
